Yup. It’s been a while. But I did warn you, so you shouldn’t be surprised.
Quite a lot has happened:
After being back from the Philippines for a week and some change, I was sent there again, but this time for a whole month. Upon my re-return, I went on a four day backpacking trip in Yosemite with my sister and a friend. Now that I’m back at work again, we’ve got a crazy schedule because of a really important project that I’ll probably talk more about later. Also, while all that was going on, LOST concluded their final season. And some other things happened too; like a giant hole opening up in the earth, a 13 year old reaching the top of Everest, and the World Cup kicking off (yes, it’s a pun).
So there you have it, my life and some world events in an eggshell.

There are few things in the world that rival my dislike for Jury Duty. It is a black curse upon my own well being. It’s not really the service itself, just the rude, impudent, apathetic interruption into my personal life. Thus far, I have done my best to avoid it, though often at the expense of my own time and sanity. But now, my fate is doomed as I have been called to serve in the Federal Court for a few weeks next month and there’s basically no way to get out of it. Bummer.
Aaron = 4, Court System = 1
They’ve even picked out a specific case for me and sent me a detailed questioner, asking some rather personal questions such as “What are your favorite pastime hobbies?” and “Have you purchased a handbag? If so, how much was the most expensive handbag you’ve purchased?” I’m surprised they didn’t ask me what flavor cheese I prefer or how many times I bathe on average in a given week. Either way, I’d still have sworn that my answers were true to the best of my knowledge, that is, until I go out and buy a handbag or take up shuffleboard as a new hobby.
So, I’m in a state of defeat. I’m sure the whole thing won’t be half as bad as I make it out to be and maybe I’ll even like it. At least it will be a new experience and maybe they won’t bug me again for a couple months.

I intended to write this long, thoughtful, awe inspiring, life-changing post; one that would make you question everything you knew (ok, so it probably wouldn’t have been that great). But time escaped me. It’s been doing that a lot lately.
So here’s just a little update since I wanted to write something if only for writing’s sake and so those who’re interested can know what’s going on:
I’ve got High School Summer Camp coming up. It’s during the first weekend of August up in the Palomar mountains. I’m sure it will be another wonderful transforming experience and, just like last year, Calvary Chapel Alpine will be joining us for the crazy ride.
I’m going to visit my little sister, Amy, in Arizona from August 10th through the 16th. It’s been a while since I’ve been out of the state and/or had anything that could be considered a vacation. I’m planning on enjoying it immensely (don’t even try to stop me).
Work has been going well. I’ve started a new project and it involves a lot more creativity than the things I usually work on. I can’t say what it is, but it there’s lots of guns, swords, and ridiculous fight sequences, thus ranking it high on the awesome scale. Also, over the course of my employment at House of Moves, my position has evolved so that in many cases I’m the go-to guy for information, which is kinda cool. It’s nice to know I’m useful though it does sometimes make it a little harder for me to get my own work done.
Lastly, I’ve uploaded a few new pictures to my photo gallery, just for fun.
